Trip: Hotel Mama Shelter @ Paris

I’ve spent the last few days in Paris with my boyfriend. The city was – as ever – thrilling and marvelous. But this time, it was definitely our hotel, Mama Shelter, that made the stay even better. Mama Shelter is located outside the centre of Paris. That might not be very convenient for first time tourists (who want to see it all quickly) but it’s quite nice for people who have been to Paris several times and aren’t interested in the very touristic stuff anymore. As we belonged to the last group, we didn’t visit the Basilique Sacré Coeur  or the Eiffel tower, we mainly focused on discovering a different side of Paris and we visited the large cemetery of Père Lachaise (very close to Mama Shelter) and had a stop at the business district La Défense.

Mama Shelter might not be in the very centre of Paris but it’s an amazingly cool hotel to stay: every detail works, it’s incredible! Below you’ll find pictures of the hotel: reception, our room, restaurant, bar,.. with more information.

So, if you’re looking for a trendy and daring hotel in Paris and you don’t mind taking the metro to go to the centre, this is the place to be for you!

DSC_0098Our hotel room was soberly decorated with some quirky elements, like the rug and the bedside lamps. By the way, the room smelled lovely the whole time we were there, like scented candles.

DSC_0100There were 2 large mirrors on each side of the bed, they really created a spacious feeling. Also, the big window allowed lots of light in.

A little desk and a very handy and hip Apple televison. I’m quite sure I need one now!

Key card holder.

A simple bathroom with large shower and a fresh flower as a nice detail.

The quirky reception with logs as seats and a painted ceiling.

The pizzeria, one of the two restaurants. I especially like these long tables and the mix of lamps.

DSC_0104The second restaurant (French kitchen) also serves as bar and breakfast area.

The actual bar. In the mornings this holds the breakfast buffet.

DSC_0107Lots of colors and a football table.

A small podium is integrated in the bar.

DSC_0106The mix and match of chairs and tables is a bit chaotic but fits perfectly. I think those rubber buoys hanging over the lamps are so funny!

Quirky and comfy chairs.
